I MET THE WALRUS

JOHN LENNON

/ I love John Lennon. The new ad by Citröen corporation uses the clip of a BBC interview to him in 1968. I like the nostalghia, vintage and retro stuff and life; and this fact there isn't a problem to survive today. /

En-ya Vandenhende

/ The collection of this young Belgian fashion designer was inspired by the "Forbidden Planet",
one of the first sci-fi movies with colours.
Vintage and futuristic at the same time, a really interesting work and it looks gorgeous. /

IN A PERFECT WORLD

/ Showcase for the work of third year fashion and visual communication students of Stockholm’s Beckmans School of Design.
Students from the two courses were paired in couple; fashion students had to create an outfit on the theme “In a perfect world”, while visual communication students were supposed to direct a video to show off the clothes.
The results are stunning, and hard to describe with words.

There is one of those videos: #6 'There's just us'

Cédric Jacquemyn

/ This young student at Antwerp Fashion Academy is part of the Belgian fashion scene, one of the most interesting and creative in these years. His work is the result of research and synthesis of an explosive creativity, inspirations that comes from art (he’s also a painter) filtered trough futuristic shape and clear cuts. This seems to comes out from a suggestive dream, tickling our imagination with a strong appeal.
The works for the first grade were already published in the Russian “Dazed & Confused” magazine; the second grade collection received the “sublime” comment and a prize from Walter Van Beirendonck, that is the most creative and innovative fashion designer of the last years. Here we can see a preview of his third grade collection: searching for inspiration, Cédric went to Iceland where overwhelming colours and landscapes let extreme freedom to his creativity. /
